Marari
Heading south from Cochin, on the highway to Alleppey, one turns towards west towards the coast to arrive at Mararikulam, popularly referred to as Marari. For most part, consisting of hamlets inhabited by fisherfolk, an extended stretch of soft sand beach fringing the Western coast is also a magnet that has attracted substantial investments in terms of luxury beach resorts, smaller boutique resorts and homestay properties that attract travellers from all over the world, transforming Marari into a thriving tourism hub. Besides the attractions offered by the beach and water sports, guests could venture inland and explore the numerous villages situated amid coconut groves and experience at close quarters the culture that the people here have been following for centuries.
